Eurovision has come under fire for allowing a the opening act that wore pro -Palestine symbol.
A representative from the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) stated that the Eurovision Song Contest is a live television program.
All contestants are made aware of the contest's rules, and the EBU regrets that Eric Saade chose to violate the event's non-political nature.

Prior to the event at Malmo Arena, attendees were advised not to bring Pro -Palestinian flags, symbols, or bags, and they were informed that security checks would be thorough.

Singer Saade expressed his discontent with the restrictions on Instagram, questioning why freedom is considered controversial and why people keep asking if it is political.
The Swedish Police Authority has stated that the terrorist threat level is at four points out of five, but it is not connected to the contest.
This year, there have been various calls and protests urging a boycott of Eurovision because Eden Golan is competing for Israel
