BBC and Children In Need Charity receive complaints about Singer Matt Goss

Editor Stephen Hill 18th  November 2023

It has been confirmed that the BBC, Graham Norton and The Children In Need charity CEO Simon Antrobus has received numerous complaints from the public to have singer Matt Goss removed from this year's Big Red Chair segment.

However it is clear the BBC has once again failed to investigate complaint that involve abuse and question are now being asked whether the BBC is fit for purpose.

The BBC, Graham Norton and Children in Need Charity has duty of care to everyone including the license payer and those members of public who donate the charity to investigate any complaint that they receive.

It has come to light that back in 2021, it was alleged that singer Matt Goss and His management Rob Ferguson and Michael Licata had incited fans to bully another person over social media which led to the individual attempting suicide.

The individual was bombarded with hate crime messages over social media and also having threats to their life.

What we learned about the complaint is that those who have complained to the broadcaster and the charity felt that it would be inappropriate for the singer to star on a show that raises money to help those who are less fortunate be safe from abuse and cruelty.

Their are also request for full investigation into the Conduct of the BBC, Graham Norton, and with calls for Simon Antrobus to resign as CEO from the Children In Need Charity as he was made fully aware of the allegations and ignored those request.

We have attempted to contacted the Singer, the broadcaster and the charity for comment but they all declined to comment.

  2. If the BBC and all other involved in producing the show were made aware of the allegation, then they should of stopped Goss for participating as all allegation of any kind of abuse , whether it's verbal abuse or asking others to bully another person is still a crime and the BBC, Children In Need should hang their heads in shame.

  3. Once again this goes to show that BBC and even Children In Need charity will hide allegations of abuse and put money before people wellbeing and safety. Simon Antrobus should be sacked from the Charity and the BBC Chief Executive should also be sacked. Shocking I will never watch the BBC or donate the charity again.

  6. I can no longer donate to Children in need as the CEO has put money before safety of others. No person including Matt Goss should participate in any charity event if they bullied or abused another person., what ever the abuse allegation is. The BBC CEO needs sacking.

  8. He should never been allowed on the show and the BBC again fail to vet those who appear on their shows. Matt is a narsacistic person who only does things, not out of kindest but to benefit his own needs.
