Former Bros Frontman Matt Goss’s took to the stage at Butlin’s Minehead Big 80s Weekender , however the appearance has drawn criticism among guest as he failed to generate resort goers to his set. while other acts like Jocelyn Brown, Martin Kemp (DJ Set ), Thereza Bazar's Dollar | Pat Sharp | Jaki Graham | Musical Youth | Doctor & The Medics | Janet Kaye had the crowd asking for more.

This couldn't be said for Goss, with fewer than one hundred people said to have attended his Saturday performance with some guests describing it as “awful” and “dull”.  The event room was approximately 90% empty and heavily blacked out, creating a markedly subdued atmosphere for a weekend promoted around 1980s music and nostalgia.

Butlin’s also reportedly reduced tickets to £69 per person, raising questions about attendance and the event’s appeal.  In the audience were the usual 50 loyal fans who regularly follow Goss, alongside a smaller number of other attendees. As he took to the stage, Goss reportedly raised his hands in anticipation of a response from the crowd. However, the reaction was said to be limited, with only a couple of women heard shouting, “We love you, Matt.”

The performance featured material described as Goss’s familiar Bros Vegas-style cover repertoire. Claims that copyright restrictions prevented him from performing the original versions of Bros hits were also raised. Some audience members disputed this and said that he could no longer sing the original version and others reportedly felt the music failed to deliver the 1980s nostalgia they had anticipated and expressed disappointment with the performance, describing it as dull.

Others just left the performance room and returned to other areas of the Butlin’s resort. Guests were also reportedly told not to film the show. The performance has also drawn attention to claims that Butlin’s received approximately 600 complaints before Goss’s appearance, relating to historical social-media allegations dating back to 2021. According to the information provided, complaints were received through the resort’s event email address, and Butlin’s indicated that it was looking into the matter. But failed to give any more information.

Separate claims concerning Goss’s  is his Spotify account with Spotify removing more than 220,000 fake monthly listeners  figures associated with his profile amid an investigation into artificial streaming. Spotify’s fraud team have confirmed they are investigating the matter and been provided with evidence they are taking seriously.

Spotify prohibits artificial streaming and any Artist found to be abusing the platform can face fully suspension and restrictions. This is not first the time the singer has Fake streams and Monthly Listeners removed from his profile back in 2023 - 24 the singer had 450,000 fake Monthly listeners removed from his profile with Spotify placing restiction on the artist and distributor.

Further allegations concern Dee Murphy, described as a close friend of Goss and a member of his management team have been made that Murphy published social-media posts encouraging fan in her facebook group to purchase artificial streams and monthly listeners for the singer. The material supplied also states that Spotify received more than 300 reports from users concerned about activity on its platform concerning the singer.

We contacted the Singer and his Management Team for comment but they declined.
