Truth behind mystery musician Eddie Dalton who taking over the iTunes chart.

Who is the mysterious blues singer Eddie Dalton who has made quite a splash, breaking into the iTunes Top 100 singles chart 11 times this month. However, it turns out this artist is not who he seems—Dalton is actually an AI-generated performer.

Behind the curtain is Dallas Ray Little, a content creator from Greenville, South Carolina, who runs a company called Crunchy Records. This label specializes in producing AI-generated music and videos under various fictional artist names.

After Dalton's debut album, “The Years Between,” soared to No. 3 on the iTunes Top Albums chart, Little addressed the criticism surrounding his AI venture. In his statement to Showbiz 411, he expressed disappointment over how his work has been portrayed.

“Describing it as a ‘content farm’ and claiming people are misled is simply not true; it misrepresents opinion as fact.”  He emphasized that every social media post is clearly labeled as AI-generated, and many fans appreciate the music for its unique qualities, stating, “All of the songs are written by me.”

Dalton’s current discography on iTunes includes six tracks: “Another Day Old,” “Running to You,” “Cheap Red Wine,” “Stay a Little Longer,” “She Don’t Stay Long,” and “Somewhere Along the Way.” The music has received descriptions like “soulful” and “smooth.”

The lyric video for “Another Day Old” has garnered over 1.4 million views on YouTube, attracting mostly positive feedback.  Although the genuine nature of the comments remains in question—whether they come from real listeners or bots—the overall response has been enthusiastic.

One user shared their connection to “Another Day Old,” reflecting on life’s blessings at 52, while another expressed excitement at discovering Dalton’s music. Comments rave about the captivating, soulful sound, with many declaring themselves new fans after just one listen.

However, the success of Dalton on the iTunes chart has stirred conversations regarding the authenticity of streaming metrics. Critics note that iTunes heavily favors downloads, which can skew perceptions of genuine fan engagement compared to metrics like Spotify streams

For myself I find the lyrics beautifdully written and very well produced. I do wrorry that A.I,will now start taking over the music industry as more people move towards this software,

  1. Does it really matter where music comes from as long as we enjoy it.
