Matt Goss's latest single, "Thank You For the Pain," is a disappointing addition to his music catalog, and it’s hard to understand what the hype was all about. Released on April 17, 2026, the track has garnered a shockingly low sales figure of just 50 copies, indicating that even the most loyal fans are struggling to connect with it.Despite being promoted as Goss's best work yet, the single’s debut on the UK iTunes chart at number 98 lasted a mere 90 minutes before it vanished entirely, a record low.

This rapid descent is telling; it feels like a clear signal that this release simply doesn’t resonate. The desperation displayed by Goss and his friend Dee Murphey during a live Instagram stream—where they implored fans to create multiple fake Spotify accounts to boost visibility—comes off as particularly disheartening. Rather than focusing on genuine engagement and artistic integrity, it seems they're resorting to underhanded tactics to salvage a floundering single.

Adding to the controversy, allegations have emerged suggesting that Goss may have engaged in manipulative practices to inflate streaming numbers and monthly listener counts with Spotfiy investigating the singer for the second time.

This undermines not only the song's credibility but also raises ethical questions about how far the singer is prepared to mislead the his fans and the  public around alledged success.

Overall, "Thank You For the Pain" falls flat both creatively and commercially, and rather than marking a return for Goss, it serves as a cautionary tale about the pitfalls of relying on gimmicks and contrived strategies in an industry that ultimately values authenticity.

We reached out to the singer and Dee Murphy both didnt reply to our request.

  1. I have to say, I was really concerned about the live stream on Wednesday, April 15th, 2026. It seemed like Matt and Dee again were encouraging us fans to break the law and misuse the Spotify platform. I've reported both the singer and Dee to the platform because I truly believe that what they're doing is fraudulent.

  4. To be honest most Bros fans i speak too are not interested in Matt solo music This is why he begs fans to buy his nusic and why he has to buy fake streams, likes and followers on all his social media.

  5. Matt's new single is an absolute disaster—it's hands down the worst thing I've ever heard. Whoever he's chosen to surround himself with clearly has zero understanding of what makes a decent pop record. He should seriously think about leaving the music industry altogether because it's evident that no radio station or even us fans is actually listening to his music. The fact that he feels the need to buy fake likes, followers, and listeners just to inflate his sad and pathetic ego speaks volumes about his lack of talent and desperation.
