Streaming Service Spotify To Invesigate Singer Matt Goss Over Fake Streams and followers Allegation.

Singer Matt Goss has come under scrutiny after being reported to Spotify for allegedly engaging in fraudulent activities aimed at manipulating the streaming platform's algorithm to increase his streams.
Reports to us and to the platform indicate that Goss has had allegation accussing him of acquiring fake streams but also encouraging his friend Dee Murphy to participate in these deceptive practices by posting on facebook on how to try and beat the algorithm.
A source from Spotify revealed that the company has recieved over 200 report and been provided with a screenshot to show a post by Dee Murphy from MG Army Facebook group encouraging other to manipulate the platform.
Spotify have a strict policy against any artist or user who deliberately acquiring fake streams or prompts others to stream in an attempt to artificially inflate the popularity of their songs.
Such actions are classified as fraud and financial theft, and we have been informed that company is prepared to escalate these matters to law enforcement if evidence is found. The source explained that both Spotify and other streaming services, including Apple Music, pay artists based on legitimate streaming counts.
Artists who acquire fake streams and followers will not receive any remuneration for those streams, as it is deemed a violation of the terms of service. The financial implications of such fraudulent behavior are serious, as it undermines the integrity of the platform and those who use the platform.
We contacted the Singer and his Manager for a response as well as Helen Jane Long to the serious allegation and so far they failed to respond to our request and we also asked Spotify for an update.

ReplyDeleteI have also reported the singer to the platform. As a fan of the singer his behaviour on things like this shocks me. Dee Murphy post is still up in the MG Group so I've screened shot that and emailed the platform as what she doing is against the law.

Spotify just got back me after my report to them, saying they had over 150 reports from people reporting Dee post and there now fully investigating Matt Goss . I think he maybe in serious shit thanks to Dee.

When he released his last disappointing album, he took to Instagram and Facebook Live, desperately urging his fans to buy six copies each. He even encouraged them to purchase extras for their family, friends, and even strangers in hopes of boosting sales. During a signing event at HMV, he noticed that I had only bought one copy and asked me why. I explained that I didn’t feel the need to buy multiple copies, and his reaction was anything but pleased; he seemed genuinely frustrated by my response. It's moments like these that highlight his constant struggle for validation.

ReplyDeleteAs a former fan of Matt Goss, I decided to stop following his career on social media because his content revolves solely around himself , he has no interest in anyone else but himself. He displays a concerning lack of respect for his dwindling fan base, focusing instead on pressuring us to purchase multiple copies of his music to bolster his image of success and when we don't he calls us unloyal.
ReplyDeleteThe truth is, throughout my years as a fan, Matt has never achieved a genuine commercial hit. His music dire and shows in Vegas rarely sold out, and his claims of performing for large crowds are simply misleading. In reality, he was performing in a small venue with a maximum capacity of just 150 people, twice a week. When he residency was not renewed he left Vegas owing thousand of pounds of unpaid bills and rent according to Olly Rowland.
During a trip to Vegas, I had the opportunity to meet his manager, Olly Rowland, who was lovely and when I asked him why the show i attended was so empty he confirmed the numerous complaints about Matt's perfomances and rudeness were increasing. The attendance at his shows often fluctuates between 60 and 80 people, despite offering free tickets to hotel guests. The title of "New King of Vegas" is a title created by his team for a in house hotel casino magazine.
It’s concerning to witness Matt's apparent narcissism and delusions of grandeur. Every show he has performed in the UK has failed to sell out, with approximately 70% of tickets often being withdrawn. It's clear that Matt Goss is in need of real help; he is grappling with significant mental health issues that cannot be overlooked. This article again reflects the reality of Matt and we all know he has to buy free likes and followers just to give a impression that people listen to his music but us fans no the truth and now finally everyone else does. I do feel sorry for him as i work in mental health and see this kind of behaviour regular and it's such a shame.
Dee Murphy and Matt should be ashamed of themselves i've now removed myself from their group. I wonder what Rob Ferguson thinks about this.

ReplyDeleteI received a response from Spotify this morning after my report about Dee Murphy post in the MG Army group. They said "We are fully investigating the serious claims against the artist and are withholding royalties during the investigation and working with label this may mean serious action being taken against the artist or Label. They warned that any users manipulating the platform will be banned, and legal action will be taken against those encouraging other to participate in such behavior on social media, possibly involving prosecution for intellectual property violations. Dee better watch out as she works for London Met police call centre i believe.
