Matt Goss York Barbican Show Flop With Dismal Ticket Sales.
Editor Stephen Hill 25th April 2025
Promoters Phil McIntyre have faced significant challenges in staging tonight’s Matt Goss show at York Barbican, dramatically reducing ticket prices and seating due to what has been dubbed the most failed tour of 2025.
Matt Goss, who marketed his "Hits and More" tour as an unforgettable evening, has come under fire from fans for overselling what many perceive to be a lackluster experience. The reality is stark: the promoters have already canceled five shows across key cities, including Manchester, Hull, Plymouth, Belfast, and Dublin, as the tour struggles to attract audiences.
Tonight’s performance is no exception, with around 350 tickets sold and an astonishing 1,150 seats remaining empty in a venue that holds 1,500.
To address this situation, the promoters have had to close off unsold sections and slash ticket prices in a desperate bid to draw in more attendees.
The former Bros frontman has been grappling with disappointing attendance numbers throughout the last 15 shows, leading to considerable financial losses for the promoters. While the London concert remains an exception, it too has seen steep price reductions, with tickets being offered for as little as £5 to £15.
Audience feedback has been mixed, with some attendees describing the performance as dull and overly hyped. Yet, a small group of loyal fans—attracted by the affordable ticket prices—insist that Goss's show is a spectacle worth witnessing.
We contacted the Venue and Ticketmaster who confirmed tickets sales were low and we reached out to singer and new Management team who declined to comment.
