1031 Unsold Liverpool Tickets For Former 80's Singer Matt Goss Flop Performance.
Matt Goss, the former ex- Vegas crooner, faced significant challenges in attracting an audience for his Liverpool show last night, resulting in more than 1031 unsold tickets.
Reports suggest that promoters employed misleading strategies to give the impression that tickets were nearly sold out which backfired on them.
Information from the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall's box office revealed that ticket sales were extremely low, leading to more than 50% of the venue being closed to the public with the box office also confirming that they sold less 669 tickets for the performance.
To date, Goss has not managed to sell out any of his shows, having completed 11 performances across multiple cities including Bristol, Blackpool, Sheffield, Newcastle, Glasgow, Middlesbrough, Birmingham, Nottingham, Wolverhampton, Cardiff, and Liverpool.
In fact the singer only managed to sell around 4,194 tickets in total for all 11 shows, despite some being priced as low as £5.00.
An alarming total of 12,394 tickets were withdrawn from sale due to a lack of consumer interest.
At last night’s performance, less than 769 fans attended, with more than 50 dedicated supporters traveling to all 11 shows.
Many free tickets were given away to the band members, promoters, family, and friends, while fans expressed reluctance to pay the £80 ticket price.
A significant number of tickets—over 300—were sold through seat filler services at the discounted price of £15.00.
Those who attended the show shared their disappointment, citing the venue's emptiness. While they praised the venue staff, some expressed dissatisfaction with the performance and Matts team.
Additionally, Goss has come under criticism for issues regarding his merchandise, including spelling errors, delayed deliveries, and a lack of responsiveness in addressing returns of defective items.
Went to the show the other night, was told we could video Matt as long as we didn't video the empty areas or seats as to not upset Matt. The performance wasn't joyful not much atmosphere and very echoey so you couldn't really here him .
