Former Las Vegas cabaret act Matt Goss is embarking on his eagerly awaited "Hits and More Tour."
However, the journey is proving to be fraught with challenges, highlighted by the recent cancellation of his Plymouth show due to lackluster ticket sales—only 179 tickets were sold.
Tonight, Goss will take the stage at the Bristol Beacon, where he is set to perform for a modest audience of just over 516 attendees.
Sources within the promotion team and the theater have revealed that renowned promoter Phil McIntyre requested the closure of certain sections, including the Foyle Upper and Lower tiers, as well as several back rows in the stalls, in an effort to manage expectations in light of the low turnout.
At 56, Goss finds himself navigating turbulent waters as he faces allegations of misleading practices.
Complaints have recently been filed with the Advertising Standards Agency regarding deceptive claims made on social media about his new single’s popularity. When fans demanded a link to the promoted video, Goss refused to comply.
In our attempts to verify this information, Goss and his management team were unresponsive and did not provide the requested link.
We also reached out to the social media platform involved, which confirmed that no video correlating to Goss's claims showing 8 million plays exists.
They cautioned that any attempts to mislead users could jeopardize Goss's account.
A reliable source from Goss’s camp disclosed that the singer and his management are utilizing questionable tactics aimed at misleading fans in hopes of boosting ticket sales.
These tactics include employing Instagram Stories, which allow content to disappear after 24 hours.
Adding fuel to the fire, Goss has faced significant backlash for his confrontational remarks made during a recent live stream, where he told dissatisfied fans to "piss off" and dismissed their concerns about the canceled Butlins and Plymouth shows.
Despite a commendable 11-year tenure in Las Vegas and performances at the intimate 150-capacity Gassy Room, Goss is struggling to regain his former glory. His latest single has also failed to gain traction, selling a mere 400 copies worldwide.
The ongoing struggles with ticket sales have compelled promoters to drastically reduce prices from £80 to just £5, resorting to desperate measures to attract attendees.
Frustrated fans who purchased tickets at the original price have taken to social media to demand refunds, calling for fairness in light of the price cuts. Regrettably, both Goss and the promoters have remained silent on these pressing concerns.
We reached out to the singer, his management, and the promoters for comment, but all parties have chosen to remain silent, leaving fans and followers in the dark.
This is nothing new with Matt . He believes his own hype
ReplyDeleteI'm close to person who knows the singer and they told me he been slagging of his fans for not buying his single and tickets.
ReplyDeleteI feel sorry for those who paid full price tickets as I got two tickets for tonight show for £10 . I would never of paid full price but two tickets for a tenner, even if the not good it's still a a night out on the cheap.🤣🤣🤣
ReplyDeleteThe venue 80% empty
ReplyDeleteWorst show I've ever seen, why does Matt think singing and oasis song badly gonna make hip. Just the same hold tripe. Matt a one trick pony now wonder Bristol was empty
ReplyDeleteVery disappointed with Matt's performance last night . Singing of key ,sound quality sounded echoey. He sang terrible version of I owe you nothing, he ruined superstition. Typical of the singer he over hypes himself. The venue was not full areas closed off .this is finally time I watch him .if I we're to rate this show I would give it a 1 star 😡😡😡😡.
ReplyDeleteS very poor show tonight considering the show was called the hits and more he only sang four hits song and they were bros songs . But I guess he not had any successful solo single. The bros songs sounded dreadful, he can't sing those songs anymore. Rubbish show.
ReplyDeleteA very lackluster show. The merchandise is over priced crap. Venue empty .
ReplyDeleteMatt show in Bristol was the worst performance I've seen him do. The set list of songs didn't impress me. He performed his usual Vegas style version of Bros tracks that sounded out of key at times .it's clear his vocals are no longer what they were. The show it's self left me unimpressed.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to article that speaks the truth about Matt Goss and not tripe he speel. Like his claim of 8 million views on tiktox. We all know the singer lies and is mentally unstable. The fact he had no success in over 30 years shows how much he disliked by the public and bros fans .
ReplyDeleteAs a person close to Matt's team I can tell you that the promoters are disappointed with the tour and have asked all venues to withdraw loads of seating and close off section. I can also confirm that Matt video has not had 8 Millions views and this why Matt reluctant to provide any link.
ReplyDeleteMatt Goss is the Biggest dickhead in music . Loathed by so many people. The guy can't sing or put on a credible show.
ReplyDeleteMatt Goss is the biggest narcissist in the pop world.
ReplyDeleteWorst show I've ever attended. He so boring and dull on stage .
ReplyDeleteSaw matt in Las Vegas, it was very under whelming, the 4 showgirls were the only saving grace.
