Stereophonics share new synth-pop single Seems Like You Don’t Know Me.
Stereophonics are back and ready to make waves with their second single from the highly anticipated album, 'Make ‘em Laugh, Make ‘em Cry, Make ‘em Wait.' The new track, "Seems Like You Don’t Know Me," follows the energetic first single,
"There’s Always Gonna Be Something," and showcases a captivating synth-pop vibe that’s perfect for listeners looking for something fresh. Frontman Kelly Jones expressed his enthusiasm about the song, saying, “It always had a great melody, but in the studio, I experimented with three or four different versions. We shifted from complex, busy drumming to the final, minimalist approach featuring a drum machine and Juno synth, which I absolutely love.
The atmosphere and the lyrics align beautifully. Relationships can be intricate, and communication can often falter.” The album, consisting of eight tracks, has been described as “clean and precise; hopeful and joyous.” A press release emphasizes that it truly delivers on its promise: You Laugh, You Cry, You Wait. In addition to the music, Kelly shared insights into the album’s artwork, which features its title against a vibrant pink background. He recalled a visit to art galleries in New York, where he encountered a painting by Louise Bourgeois that read "ART IS A GUARANTY OF SANITY."
Inspired by her belief that art serves as a form of mental healing, he noted, “The catchy spelling and the simplicity of the words etched onto a pink tile really resonated with me. So, taking a cue from my art school teacher thirty years ago, I tried scratching my title and fell in love with it. The pink album was born!”
To celebrate the release, the band will embark on their thrilling 'Stadium Anthems' tour! Fans can look forward to two exciting hometown gigs at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on July 11 and 12, as well as additional performances across North America and Europe.
Mark your calendars: 'Make ‘em Laugh, Make ‘em Cry, Make ‘em Wait' drops on April 25 and is available for pre-order from Amazon, HMV, Rough Trade, Townsend, and many others.
