'Some of the most exciting things could still be yet to come...' Says Kim Wilde

80s pop goddess Kim Wilde is not currently interested in having a biopic made about her life, believing that "the most exciting things could still be yet to come."
At 64, she has enjoyed a remarkable pop career spanning five decades, beginning with her iconic 1981 hit single "Kids in America," which resonated worldwide.
While films like "Rocketman," "Bohemian Rhapsody," and "Amy" have captivated audiences with the stories of legendary artists, Kim feels it’s too soon to capture her journey on screen. She believes there are still many highlights and music to create. When considering a biopic, she shares, "I think it might be a bit premature, really. I have a feeling that some of the most exciting things are still yet to come.
Perhaps that’s just wishful thinking! Given how my life goes, it wouldn’t surprise me if that were the case." Kim expresses the importance of the private aspects of an artist’s life, stating, "I think the most interesting part of many artists' lives is what’s not shown on camera—the very private side.
I’m not sure I’d be comfortable with that being revealed." Currently, Kim is wowing fans on her recent Sold - Out UK tour to promote her latest album, "Closer," released in January 2025. She is accompanied by her brother, Ricky Wilde, and her niece, Scarlett Wilde, both of whom co-wrote and co-produced her 15th studio album by her side. The musical bond between Kim and Ricky, whose father, Marty Wilde, was a pioneer of the British rock 'n' roll movement in the 1950s, is deeply cherished.
In an interview with BANG Showbiz, Kim highlights the beauty of their collaboration: "It’s really beautiful. The older we get, the more emotional I think we both feel about it. Life is not forever, and careers don’t last forever, nor do our legs, hips, and knees! So we’re very grateful to be in a position where we can still do this."
Kim emphasizes that thoughts of retirement from touring or recording have never crossed her mind. She is eager to create another album in the future with Ricky, who is 63, and Scarlett. She declares, "We’re a long way from retirement. We don’t entertain those thoughts just yet, but we know it’s coming, so we don’t take anything for granted. Every gig we do now and every moment like that is so precious, and we put everything into our show to make it as perfect as we perceive it to be for the audience."
