1,922 Unsold Tickets For Matt Goss Sheffield Show Flop as tickets reduced to just £5
Editor Stephen Hill 14th March 2025
Back in the late '80s, the name Matt Goss and Bros inspired a frenzy among preteen girls. Today, however, the one-time pop sensation, who sold over 17 million albums and 10 million singles alongside his brother Luke and best friend Craig Logan, finds himself struggling to draw an audience for his Sheffield show tonight.
Scheduled to perform at Sheffield City Hall, Matt Goss is set to face an audience of only 349 attendees this evening. In a surprising turn of events, he has not only been unable to sell tickets but has also failed to give them away, prompting promoters to withdraw a staggering 1,922 seating tickets from sale.
This tour echoes the dismal performance of his 2023 "Matt Goss Experience Tour," which similarly failed to capture the interest of even his most dedicated fans.
In an urgent effort to fill seats, promoters have resorted to slashing ticket prices down to an astonishing £4.50 on seat-filler websites.
Following a canceled show in Plymouth and disappointing crowds in Bristol and Blackpool, it seems this third performance marks the culmination of a troubling trend.
Insiders from the venue and Ticketmaster confirm that access will be severely restricted, with entire sections—including the complete Upper Circle and Lower Circle, as well as 14 rows from the rear of both side stalls and center sections—closed due to abysmal ticket sales.
Despite his website promoting this as a "show to remember," it’s evident that the nostalgic allure of Goss's hits like "I Owe You Nothing" and "When Will I Be Famous?" has not translated into ticket purchases.
At 56, Goss continues to grapple with securing a record label deal and has now allied with a boutique record brand, "So Let’s Talk." This label targets artists unable to secure contracts with mainstream labels, but it has a reputation for making exaggerated claims about its success with Z-list artists, including the revamped East 17, who have struggled since the departures of Tony Mortimer and Brian Harvey, to carve out any credible songs or have any commercial success. The band only has one original member remaining.
As Matt Goss prepares to take the stage in a concert hall of 349 fans, it raises serious questions about the singer’s self-perception and the disconnect between his past glories and current realities.
This stark reality signifies a dramatic and desperate low, suggesting he may be resorting to extreme measures to maintain his visibility in the public eye. We reached out to the "So Let’s Talk" record label and Matt Goss to scrutinize their assertions regarding 10 million plays of his recent lackluster single, but both the artist and the label declined to comment.

ReplyDeleteWent to the show, the venue was 90 percent unsold . We got moved be because of the amount of unsold seats . Matt struggled to sing all songs. He vocals are gone with all songs sung in low key . The version of songs were again Vegas style crap . I don't think I go and see him again. The show gets a 0 rating .
ReplyDeleteDisappointing show in a practically empty venue.
ReplyDeleteThe show was very shabby , we got moved from our seats at the back of stalls to the middle due to loads of empty seats, there were around 10 -14 rows empty behind us and a empty closed balcony.
