Beabadoobee: Gets First Number 1 Album

Bea Kristi has achieved her first top ranking on the Official Albums Chart with her sophisticated and contemplative third album.
The singer, aged 24, has already established an impressive career over the last seven years. Since her initial release in 2017, Beabadoobee (Bea's real name is Beatrice Laus) has refined her distinctive brand of confessional indie-pop across three albums: "Fake It Flowers" (2020), "Beatopia" (2022), and her latest release, "This Is How Tomorrow Moves," which has secured the top position on the official album chart.

Beabadoobee, the stage name for Filipino-English singer-songwriter Beatrice Laus, also known as Bea Kristi, was born in the Philippines and later moved to London with her parents at the age of three, growing up in West London.

During her teenage years, she drew inspiration from rock acts such as Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, before acquiring her first guitar at the age of 17.
In 2017, Beatrice Laus transitioned into beabadoobee with the release of her original song "Coffee," which rapidly gained popularity and drew the attention of the indie label Dirty Hit, leading to a record deal. She subsequently released three EPs ("Lice," "Patched Up," and "Loveworm") and joined labelmates The 1975 and rising indie artist Clairo on tour.

Beabadoobee garnered widespread attention in 2020 with her debut album, notably due to her featured vocals on Powfu's "Death Bed," which became her first (and to date, only) UK Top 10 single, reaching Number 4 on the Official Singles Chart. Last year, she achieved another unexpected presence in the Top 40, reaching Number 38 with the standalone single "The Glue Song."
