Pet Shop Boys Deliver Deliciously Pop New Single ‘Dancing Star’

Editor Stephen Hill  5th April 2023

80's pop duo Pet Shop Boys have release their latest single, Dancing Star, from their upcoming Nonetheless album which arrives on the 26th of April.

The new album sees Chris Lowe and Neil Tennant collaborate with James Ford, with the first sample of their hard work being heard in lead single Loneliness last month.

The new single Dancing Star draws influence from the story of ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev, who defected from the Soviet Union and became a global star.

Dancing Star sees Tennant croon: “When the streets of London sang with pop stars Well the truth is that they always do / In the 60s you could feel the freedom / and the brightest star in town was you” against production which feels unmistakably inspired from band early work from the late 80's and early 90's, which for me was their best work.

The new track comes accompanied by two additional original tracks Sense of Time and If Jesus Had a Sister, as well as two remixes from Solomun and a remix of previously dropped B-Side Party in the Blitz now remixed by Superchumbo.

The album Nonetheless features ten tracks and will be available digitally and in various physical formats, including CD, black vinyl, clear vinyl, grey vinyl and cassette.

A white vinyl with bonus EP will be available from the Pet Shop Boys official store.
