Bryan Ferry ‘seriously ill’ in hospital
Pop legend Bryan Ferry was last was admitted to hospital undergoing hospital tests after falling seriously ill. Doctors at the hospital were called for the star after he was taken ill in London.
As a result, the 65-year-old – who splits his time between a townhouse in Chelsea, South West London, and a country house in West Sussex - was forced to cancel an appearance at an event last night.
There were initially fears that the Roxy Music lead singer had suffered a heart attack. However, a source for the star insisted last night that was not the case but claimed the singer had been feeling unwell for some times
Ferry is one of the most famous figures of the 1970s glam rock scene.
His hits with Roxy Music include Virginia Plain, Love Is The Drug, Angel Eyes and Jealous Guy. The band’s albums Stranded, Flesh and Blood and Avalon were all chart-toppers. He has also enjoyed solo success, most notably with the worldwide hit Let’s Stick Together.
The star famously dated Jerry Hall for two years before she left him for Mick Jagger in 1977. He then married Lucy Helmore and they had four children together – including pro-hunt campaigner Otis.
They divorced in 2003 and he started dating Katie Turner, 35 years his junior. The singer, though, is now in a relationship with Amanda Sheppard, who is 36 years younger than him. She previously worked in public relations but quit in 2009 after Ferry offered to support her financially
