Matt Goss Bournemouth Show Flop

 With Over 3000 Unsold Tickets.

Freelance Reporter Aimee Smith  31/03/23

Matt Goss continues to struggles to attract fans to his latest show at the BIC Bournemouth
 this evening.
BH Live the ticket agent had confirmed that the promoters had withdrew over 3000 tickets from sale for the following areas which included  upper balcony, lower balcony, side balcony and blocks A & D.

The ex Bros frontman sold just 979 tickets for a venue that seats 4000 even though tickets had been reduced and placed on seat filler site for less than £10.

An email from BH Live was sent to a ticket holder confirming that certain section had been closed and she was to be relocated nearer to the stage.

Whilst its seems fans of Matt don't want to see him in concert there are some success stories with artist like Bublé, Donny Osmond, Busted,  Marti Pellow, S Club7, all selling out arena's, with the most successful Madonna who in 3 days sold over 600,000 tickets.

Went to the show with my Mum as a gift to her and we managed to obtain 2 tickets for £8 so we thought why not go out for the evening. The BIC was not even a quarter full.
The show was cringe worthy to say the least. To be honest I'd never heard of Matt Goss before nor had my mum but she likes Michael Bublé, Michael Ball and Alfie Boe, so we thought it would be on similar lines. Well this was far from the truth, the guy came on stage looking like he painted on his hair, some what looking orange with his fake tan. The show lasted around 2 hour and the songs he sang omg boring. After the first interval we left like a few other did. It was a travesty of a show, if you had paid full price for that show, god you would of been disappointed.

  2. 100% worst show I've been to and it's just Matt doing the same old routine he been doing for years

  3. This Guy never lives up to the hype, what a looser

  4. Matt show was stagnant and the same old rubbish he did a few years back at the Hilton

  5. Venue was empty and his show didn't excite many of us fans as usual the goody bag were awful, giving us yet another copy of his album because he cant sell them.

  6. Worst show of 2023 and if I was to put my name on here I would be kicked out of MGA Group and be trolled.

  7. Crap singer with a big ego complex

  8. Goss, neither gifted nor a gentleman.

  9. The show was depressing and dragged on. Matt thinks that drinking on stage is some what cool but its not. He talks to much about himself.

  10. Matt Goss was promoted as "Britain's Answer to Frank Sinatra" and that is the reason I had chosen this show plus my friend was a crazy Bros fan back in the day drooling over Luke Goss. The ticket holders were non existent as the venue closed off so many sections with just the middle section mainly occupied.
I bought tickets early which were very expensive to find out other had paid less than £6 for the same seats. The show was the worst I have ever seen - he spent the whole time meandering around droning on about his Grandad, and how popular the show been even though we found out none of the previous shows had not sold well.
He version of the Cole Porter song were drab and how he murdered When Will I be Famous and I owe you nothing, I mean what the hell.
After some audience participation where he was giving away free shots was a some what attempt to try get the audience interested but most of them were clearly not interested with a few people walking out in the first interval.

The Band and Orchestra were outstanding but they looked embarrassed to play to a venue with so many empty seats. So let me tell you Mr Matt Goss, the wearing of a sharp suit and does NOT make you a swing singer.

  11. Bought tickets for my Mum as she was a brossette in her teen's, so thought why not surprise her. The tickets were around £6 each from a seat filler site I use.
The Matt Goss experience was a let down from start to finish. My Mum and I sat and watched a middle aged Matt Goss drole on about his own self importance, perform a medico set list, drink way to much on stage, see people walk out of the venue half way through the show.
However my Mum did make me laugh though when said the show reminder her of when she was a kid and her parents took her to the working means club to watch cabaret only to see a half drunk male performer on stage.
I felt so sorry for my Mum as she work so hard and look's out for everyone and I just wanted to do something nice for her and Matt just ruined the whole experience.

  12. Just heard Matt cancelled Swansea as sold just 75 tickets for the event and didn't even have decency to notify fans, call himself as gentleman I think not.

  13. Matt sang well but I will never go to another Matt concert, he to egotistic and portrays like he some gangster, when in fact he deluded middle-aged man. The show was boring and unaspiring.

  14. Matt needs to retire as he has no credibility anymore.

  15. Over priced, over hyped and not worth buying tickets in advance. 3 out 10 for performance.

  16. Matt performance at this show, was unaspiring to say the least. As a fan of the singer for many years, this show was my least favourite. The set looked great, the band and Orchestra were brilliant. The venue had so many empty seats I ask my self why Matt didn't cancel this show as its clear his music no longer popular with the majority of fans.
I saw many of the same faces that had been previous show's who told me they been to previous show's of this tour as they felt bad for Matt plus they managed to get either cheap of free tickets. Sorry Matt I wont be ever attending your shows again.

  17. Matt Goss team paid the guy who owns retro pop magazine to write a good review. He known the guy for many years so it's nice to see article that reflects the facts the show didn't attract fans. Not saying the show was bad, but it was not good either.

  18. Sam is user Topmidbottoms on twitter, she a nut job and she was not at Bournemouth.

  19. I work along side MG team and I can reassure you this article so on the ball. Matt did loose money on this tour. Dates did fail to sell-out. Bournemouth did have over 3000 unsold tickets.

  20. Show venue was very empty but the show itself was not bad. Matt certainly is no Sinatra and should never be compared to that music Icon. Matt really now past it after 30 years of trying he should now give up or go back to Bros with his kind hearted brother Luke, who life Matt destroyed because Matt thought he was going to have a successful solo career like George Michael. Matt should beg Luke for his forgiveness and try repair their relationship before it's to late. Matt is to be not a kind hearted he portrays but self centre, self absorbed failed pop star with half decent voice.

  21. Matt just a looser who wears a wig and bullies woman. VILE

  22. Went of Matt years ago.

  23. Matt music since the split of Bros has been dreadful, he simply can't write music and his singing now of key and attitude is just childlike. I remember in 1989 at the Wembley concert how he viciously verbally attacked a 12 year old female fan because she criticised his jeans. He so hated by a lot BROS fans because he is a compulsive liar and a bully to his brother and fans who challenge him.
